Patrick Costello brings youthful romance and irresistible energy to Heart Like a Hurricane, a lively rockabilly single driven by infectious rhythms and retro charm. Celebrating the excitement of new love and physical attraction, the track combines soulful vocals with bluesy touches, vibrant guitar work and funky keyboard flourishes.
Its arrangement is particularly engaging, gradually gaining momentum before easing back following a fiery guitar solo, then surging into an explosive finale. The punchy snare performance, enhanced by subtle ghost notes, gives the production an authentic vintage character while keeping the groove fresh and dance floor ready. Costello handles songwriting, vocals and drums, joined by guitarist Tom Finch, bassist Tommy O’Mahoney and co-producer Ari Rios, who also contributes backing vocals and mixing. Recorded at Laughing Tiger Studios, this spirited release showcases a playful new direction for Costello.
