Hamish’s album, Significant Others, is a long-awaited record with an unusual history, emerging sixteen years after its recordings were first assembled. Following Picture In My Bag, the fifteen-track collection blends melody, personal storytelling and the homespun spirit of a project continually rediscovered and refined. Producer Chris Oldfield, whose background includes Dreadzone, played a crucial role in shaping the material, working alongside local musicians and Hamish using Ableton. Recorded largely in a garden cabin, the album grew from relaxed sessions, rehearsals and contributions gathered over several years. That informal setting seems central to its character, with warmth and spontaneity running through the finished songs, promising plenty for longtime listeners to discover.
