After is a nine-track release from UK project Phraen, led by Seamus O’Dwyer and shaped through an instinctive blend of songwriting and studio experimentation. Moving between dream pop, shoegaze and alternative rock, the album avoids settling into one identity. Instead, shifting arrangements, layered textures and atmospheric production keep each song distinctive. Deer stands out with guitars and strings forming a sweeping, cinematic backdrop, while Time to Panic takes an unexpected turn toward western-inspired territory in its closing moments. Recorded largely at home, with the help of guest singers and musicians who contributed remotely, the album makes creative use of Ableton, pedals, reverb, delay and amplified effects. The result is an intimate, exploratory record guided by mood, uncertainty and curiosity.
