Grand Rapids rockers The American Hotel System turn personal struggles into a compelling four-track journey on their new EP, Part One: Where Pain Will Lead. Exploring longing, emotional struggle, existential anxiety, and uncertainty, the EP pairs thoughtful songwriting with energetic alternative rock. Each song confronts a different hardship while searching for hope, connection, and personal growth. The closing title track carries particular weight, having remained unfinished for a decade before becoming the collection’s emotional centerpiece. Entirely self-produced and independently released, this project marks the beginning of a larger musical statement, with another chapter and a full-length album planned for next year.
