Emerging from Dayton, Ohio, A While After introduce their debut single, Mope, a heartfelt slice of modern emo-infused pop-punk. The track examines the uneasy space between present reality and youthful expectations, embracing uncertainty instead of hiding it. Inspired by the emotional directness and melodic drive of early-2000s favorites, the song balances nostalgia with a fresh outlook. Production duties were shared by Brett Romnes and Gary Cioni, with sessions split between The Barber Shop Studios and Sound Acres Recording Studios. The release arrives ahead of the band’s first live appearance at the Ohio Is For Lovers festival, marking an exciting beginning while hinting at a greater promise.
